‘I didn’t want to lose this home’
After 12 weeks trying to sell her house, Jean Burridge turned to Quickmove Properties, who made her dream move possible using part exchange.
We met Jean Burridge soon after she moved in to her new Prestige Avanti park home at Kingsmead Park in Rushden. She had been living in Wellingborough for over 20 years and wanted to downsize before her existing home became too much to cope with following knee surgery.
With a good friend already living on-park, she heard that a prime plot was becoming available so acted quickly to reserve it. Jean explained the next stages of her move:
“I then visited the Prestige showground with my friend to choose the home. We enjoyed two hours there choosing colour schemes and furnishing options. There was almost too much choice!”
“My own house then went on the market. I trusted the agent and didn’t want to hassle them but there was very little interest in the first 12 weeks. The price was lowered and we finally got a buyer but they couldn’t get a mortgage! I didn’t want to lose this home so I approached Quickmove Properties, who offered to buy the house. Debbie DeCroo at Quickmove also helped to negotiate an additional discount from the park owner on my behalf to make a part exchange deal work”.
“The completion date was set for January as we wanted one last family Christmas in the old house. Quickmove then gave me an extra two weeks to move following completion, giving me time to organise everything and move out. This extra time is worth a lot – much less stressful than moving all in one day. Quickmove provided a five-star service. And I couldn’t fault dealing with Turners and Prestige either, who came out immediately when there was a problem with the washing machine.”
Jean is already settling well into the park lifestyle, taking advantage of the nearby country walks and bus service that stops on the park for the local shopping centre and amenities.
“Its very friendly here on the park, the location is excellent and everyone speaks to you. You can get involved with coffee mornings and other community activities. I’m looking forward to a spot of gardening again. I’ve no regrets about the move – so simple!”
Part exchange works for the Park Owner too!
Tracey Rodwell is Operations Manager at Turners Parks and commented on the ease of Jean’s move to Kingsmead Park:
The whole process was easy and seamless from start to finish. A key factor was agreeing the completion date months in advance and knowing that the date would not slip. Quickmove considered the needs of our prospective purchaser and the stress that buying and selling can cause. Their License to occupy is especially valuable as it allows a further two weeks following completion to move out, which was such a relief for our purchaser. I recommend that other Park Home Operators and Purchasers give Quickmove a call to see how they can help.
