Quickmove raise over £14,000 for Age UK in 24 Hour Non-Stop Cycling Challenge
After helping customers to complete their house moves right through Lockdown, part exchange specialists Quickmove Properties recently turned their attention to raising funds for charity.
Demonstrating how they ‘keep the wheels turning’, the fast-moving Quickmove team undertook a 24 Hour Cycling Challenge to raise funds for Age UK, a charity very much in demand by the elderly for its support services during 2020.
The entire Quickmove team took turns on exercise bikes through the night, pedalling non-stop the 888 virtual miles from their office in Royal Wootton Bassett to the 12 different development locations of their main challenge sponsor RoyaleLife, the UK’s leading park home bungalow provider. Each mile covered raised £16 for charity and the cheque for £14,390 was presented to Daniel Stewart, Community Fundraising Manager at Age UK on a Zoom call.
Quickmove’s Chairman Steve Abbley explained why the team chose to support Age UK.
‘As a small local business we’ve been very fortunate to stay open, keeping busy and healthy during the 2020 lockdowns. However, many, especially the elderly and vulnerable have not been so lucky. Donations to Age UK help provide vital services that offer companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life alone. We are delighted to raise over £14,000 through fundraising and sponsorship from our valued partners, including RoyaleLife.’
