“The Part Exchange took about 6 weeks in all”

We hear from Shelagh who has moved to a peaceful and picturesque new park on the outskirts of York using Quickmove Property Part-Exchange.
Shelagh and her partner moved from the family home in Bolton, Lancashire to a peaceful and secluded park home development nr. York . Shelagh explained how the move came about:
“When the kids grew up, we were sat in this big house with too much space and cleaning, so we decided to downsize!
We were originally thinking about a retirement flat but my partner suggested park homes. My mum used to live in a mobile home in Gretna, they were quite a bit smaller back then.
We did some searching, and then it came up from Quickmove that the park was holding an open weekend. We viewed with my daughter and son-in-law, and we liked it because it was very open, in the country and not too far from the children who often visit.
I liked the layout of this unit, very spacious and light, free-flowing, very easy being on one level and has the patio on it. As a new build its a lot warmer than our last house – well insulated and more economical too. We’ve got a spare room, but it’s my craft room where I knit, sew and cross stitch.
This park is a new development but rapidly becoming a friendly community of like-minded people, with plenty to do and see in the local area.
“The park is nice and open with views everywhere and we’ve seen a lot of wildlife. Pheasants come into the garden sometimes and we’ve got Jersey cows in the end field.
There are plenty of walks around here and always something going on in the local community. There’s a Tesco nearby, York accessible by car or bus and the local village has a pub, a shop, a summer fete, yard sales, craft groups and Christmas fairs.
The park owners are also easy to get on with – you can call up Frankie and he sorts things out. They were on hand if we needed any help when settling in and they accommodated our requests.
Its so peaceful, we feel safe and happy here.”
With an existing home to sell, they used the home part exchange service offered by the park in partnership with Quickmove Properties. Shelagh explained why it worked well for them…
“The move was pretty quick – we completed in July so it took about six weeks in all. If you put your house up for sale normally, it could be there for months and months and the value could go down in that time. By the time you’ve added in the solicitor and the estate agent fees you could still end up with near enough the same amount of money offered by Quickmove.
It’s all about the convenience factor and the peace of mind of having sold.
I found it a very smooth process. The solicitor that Quickmove used for us was helpful and answered everything that I asked.
I would recommend Quickmove. You weigh it all up, ok you might lose some value but it’s the hassle factor, it’s a quick move and a lot easier.”
